Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind
371 East Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown N.Y.
Volunteers play and walk with the dogs in the enclosed yards on our campus.
NOTES: Due to the size of our dogs, volunteers should be able to handle a 70-pound dog. All kennel volunteers must be 14 years and older. (Proof of age is required.) Young adults between the ages of 14 and 18 must provide a signed parental consent before beginning volunteer work.

Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk
Experienced builders work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Saturdays are for groups and new volunteers. Volunteers must be 16 and 17 years of age and must have an adult with them. Tools are available, but lunch and gloves must be brought to the site by the volunteer. The work day is from 9am-3pm.

Stony Brook University Hospital
University Hospital's Junior Volunteer Program offers young men and women between the ages of 14 and 17 a chance to serve their community while they explore career options. Junior volunteers must obtain parental consent and donate three hours a week for at least eight months.
